Cherokee Flexibles Pro Womens V-Neck Scrub Top Product Review

By Chiqui Raveloski

It's New Years once again and what better way to start it off with a new perspective and fresh start to your everyday life. A lot of you are probably ready for a new look for 2014. Whether it be a new hairstyle, new make up, new wardrobe, change is refreshing.

As nurses, it's always invigorating when we think about buying new nurse scrubs for work. Those cute tops that fit just right ! It makes you very excited to go to work and show off your newly found treasure. Particularly, when you know that you are the very first one to find it and wear it for everyone to admire.

With that said, I'm starting off the new year by doing one of my many scrub top reviews for Uniformed Scrubs. I'm very excited to take this opportunity my fellow nurses and healthcare camaraderie, to introduce you to a new kind of scrub top from Cherokee scrubs.

Cherokee tops became more popular when they introduced their line of super cute tops with unique black side stretch panels which gives you the slimming feminine shape and silhouette. Don't we all love that?! (To all the males out there, sorry not for you.) I actually bought two of them..

Now, Cherokee made it to where the side panels are in solid color as the top itself. This gives you the professional look required by some workplaces where dress codes prefer a clean solid look. It's from their newest line called Cherokee Flexibles Pro

The top I am reviewing is the royal blue Cherokee 2968 V - Neck Women's Scrub Top ;

This top is made out of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The polyester material is so soft you would think it's all cotton. Nevertheless, the scrub top did not shrink after washing and stayed very soft with the addition of fabric softener. The flexible side panels are made of 88% polyester and 12% spandex. It makes for a very comfortable and soft stretch material we nurses need to hug us during the long 12 hour shift.

I asked for a medium and it fit perfectly. This top is the "Missy Fit". Not too big, yet fitted enough to hug my waist to give that subtle, flattering curve. Other tops require the back ties to achieve this look. But this Cherokee nurse scrub gives you that effect without the added ties. Very versatile.

The center back length of this medium top is 26 1/2 inches. It's  just right. Your "butt crack" stays hidden (LOL) when you bend over and pick up something from the floor, raise your hands up to reach for that IV bag on the pole, do the Macarena, jumping jacks, etc....That's one of the thing I watch out for when I'm wearing the low rise scrub pants. Ladies, this top has got your back !!!

The shoulder to shoulder length is 17 inches. I was a little skeptical at first when I saw the top. The cut is so feminine that I thought my shoulders will not have enough room. I have always had that problem. Yet, looks can be deceiving. I had plenty of shoulder and arm room. Did not feel constricted at all. Sleeves measures
8 1/2 inches from the top shoulder to the top end of the sleeve. Plenty enough to cover the upper arm and still show off the biceps you have been toning up for the new year.

The pockets I thought were the most adorable pockets I had ever seen in a scrub top. Let me tell you why. It comes with 2 pockets on both sides. Length is 7 3/4 inches and width is 6 1/2 inches wide. It comes with a snap tab closure in the middle.Now, you're probably thinking, " That's not gonna work. I don't wanna have to open and close the snaps". As much of that is true, i saw some potential in it. You can choose not to use the tab at all and just keep it un snapped. Then just snap it on if you want to secure something important inside your pocket.

Then on the other pocket, you can leave the tab snapped close, then  add some flavor and bling to it by attaching something to the tab itself. Like what I have on the pictures. You can keep your pens, pen light, etc, that you can secure inside the pocket.

You can use a hair ornament or any accessories you like with an alligator clip on the back to secure it on the tab. I used my pink daisy hair clip. Easy on and off just in case the CNO or JCAHO comes in for inspection and you have to be within your dress code. When they leave, just put it back on. So Multi faceted ! You can keep this tab close and just keep pens and other gadgets that can be secured in place. Isn't this a great idea? Remember you saw it here first!!!

Overall, Cherokee has managed a way to incorporate fun, adorable, and diversity to  formal, strict, and boring dress codes. I have gotten a lot of compliments with this top when I wore it to work. The added flower on the pocket got some attention especially from patients. Kinda different from the ordinary and brightened their day.
